Wrigley Field Illustration
Even though I spent half my childhood in California, I have always been a Cubs fan, an inherited trait from my father. The Cubs, to me, are a way to practice faith. Throughout the 108 years that the Cubs continuously lost, Cubs fans would say, “there’s always next year.” That’s why I chose to digitally illustrate this sign. It is an iconic symbol of faith and goodwill, and the belief that no matter what happens, there’s always next time.
After doing a tight pencil drawing, I rendered the picture digitally using Adobe Illustrator, paying close attention to the details, not as prevalent in the two-toned drawing -- like, the mismatched paint and the neon tubes.
